At Wafaq – Muslim Matrimony Platform, we respect your ability to control your account and personal information.
This Account & Data Deletion Policy explains how you can request deletion of your Wafaq account and what happens to your information after a deletion request.
1. Your Right to Request Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your Wafaq account at any time.
Deleting your account is different from temporarily logging out or simply stopping use of Wafaq.
Once an account deletion request has been completed, you may lose access to your profile and associated Wafaq features.
2. How to Delete Your Account
Where an account deletion option is available within Wafaq, you can submit your request from your account or profile settings.
The option may appear under a section such as:
Account Settings → Delete Account
Follow the instructions displayed to confirm your deletion request.
If you cannot access the account deletion option or are unable to access your account, you may request assistance by contacting:
Wafaq Support
Email: [email protected]
When contacting Support, use the email address associated with your Wafaq account whenever possible.
3. Identity Verification
To protect accounts from unauthorized deletion, Wafaq may take reasonable steps to verify that a deletion request was submitted by the account owner.
We may ask you to verify information associated with your account before processing the request.
Never send your password, one-time password, complete payment-card information, or unnecessary sensitive information to Wafaq Support.
4. What Happens When Your Account Is Deleted
When your account deletion is completed, your account will generally no longer be available for normal use.
Depending on the Service and applicable requirements, this may include removing or disabling access to:
- Your Wafaq account
- Your matrimonial profile
- Profile photographs
- Profile information
- Match and partner preferences
- Interests and interest requests
- Access to member communication features
- Other information or functionality associated with your active profile
Your profile should no longer be available to other members through normal account discovery after deletion has been completed.
5. Messages and Information Involving Other Members
Certain information may involve more than one Wafaq user.
For example, messages or interactions involving another member may need to be handled differently from information that belongs only to your profile.
Where applicable, some records may be retained, deleted, anonymized, or otherwise restricted in accordance with applicable law, security requirements, dispute-resolution needs, and Wafaq's Privacy Policy.
Account deletion therefore does not necessarily mean that every reference to an interaction will immediately disappear from every system or from information lawfully retained in connection with another user's account.
6. Information We May Need to Retain
Account deletion does not always require immediate deletion of every record.
Wafaq may retain limited information where reasonably necessary or required for purposes such as:
- Compliance with legal obligations
- Financial and transaction records
- Fraud prevention
- Security and abuse prevention
- Resolving disputes
- Investigating reports
- Enforcing our Terms of Service
- Preventing users from circumventing serious account restrictions
- Establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims
Where information is retained after account deletion, it will remain subject to appropriate protections and should only be used for the purposes for which retention is necessary.
This is consistent with Wafaq's Privacy Policy, which explains that certain information may need to remain temporarily for legal obligations, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, financial records, and enforcement purposes. Pasted markdown
7. Backups
Personal information may temporarily remain in secure backup systems after deletion from active systems.
Backup copies may be retained for a limited period according to Wafaq's backup, security, disaster-recovery, and legal requirements.
Where applicable, information retained solely in backups will not normally be restored to active use except where necessary for legitimate recovery, security, or legal purposes.
8. Paid Packages and Subscriptions
Deleting your Wafaq account does not necessarily cancel an externally managed recurring subscription.
If you have an active automatically renewing subscription, you should cancel it using the applicable cancellation method before deleting your account.
For purchases or subscriptions managed through third-party platforms such as the Apple App Store or Google Play, you may need to manage or cancel the subscription directly through the applicable platform.
Account deletion does not automatically create a right to a refund.
Refunds and billing issues are governed by the Wafaq Purchase & Refund Policy and applicable law.
9. Loss of Account Features
Account deletion may result in permanent loss of access to information and features associated with your account, including:
- Your profile
- Matches
- Interests
- Messages or communication access
- Uploaded photographs
- Premium features
- Remaining package allowances
- Account preferences
- Other account-related functionality
Before requesting deletion, you should consider whether there is information you are legally entitled and technically able to obtain from your account that you wish to retain.
10. Creating a New Account After Deletion
Deleting an account does not guarantee that you will be permitted to create another Wafaq account.
If an account was previously suspended, banned, or terminated for serious violations of Wafaq's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, fraud-prevention requirements, or safety rules, attempts to create another account to circumvent those restrictions may be prevented.
11. Privacy Requests
Depending on your location and applicable law, account deletion may be separate from other privacy rights.
You may have rights concerning:
- Access to personal information
- Correction of inaccurate information
- Deletion of personal information
- Restriction of certain processing
- Objection to certain processing
- Data portability where applicable
- Withdrawal of consent where applicable
These rights and any applicable limitations are explained further in the Wafaq Privacy Policy. The current Privacy Policy lists these categories of user rights. Pasted markdown

Please provide:
- Your name
- The email address associated with your Wafaq account
- A clear statement that you are requesting account deletion
We may request reasonable additional information to verify that you control the account.
Do not email us your password, one-time verification codes, or complete payment-card details.
13. Processing Your Request
Wafaq will process valid account and personal-data deletion requests in accordance with applicable privacy and data-protection requirements.
The time required to complete a request may depend on:
- Identity verification
- The nature of the request
- Applicable legal requirements
- Security or fraud-prevention requirements
- Information that Wafaq is legally permitted or required to retain
Where applicable law establishes a specific response period, Wafaq will process requests subject to that requirement.

Wafaq may update this Account & Data Deletion Policy to reflect changes to the Service, account functionality, technology, legal requirements, or privacy practices.
The latest version will display an updated Last Updated date.
